Broken Nature: Design Takes on Human Survival
Broken Nature: Design Takes on Human Survival documentary is envisioned as a path that describes and unfolds the preconditions and goals of Broken Nature, the XXII International Exhibition of Triennale Milano, curated by Paola Antonelli, through the voices of its protagonists. Broken Nature exhibition is an in-depth exploration of the strands that connect humans to the natural environment that have been intensely compromised, if not entirely severed, over the years. By casting a wide net on architecture and design projects, Broken Nature underlines the concept of restorative design, highlighting objects and concepts at all scales that reconsider human beings’ relationship with their environments –including both natural and social ecosystems.

Two Pianos
Combining two landmark projects by the Renzo Piano Building Workshop — the Fondation Beyeler in Basel and the Zentrum Paul Klee in Bern, the filmmakers Paul Clemence and Axel Stasny apply their artistic sensibility to highlight Piano's architectural vocabulary: the masterful use of light, the carefully orchestrated relationship between in and out, the seamless connection to the surroundings, and an exacting precision of craftsmanship. Originally conceived as a video commission by the Art Museums of Switzerland, the film expands on the initial premise to create a cinematic homage to the Italian master architect.
